Southern Classic Roundball


Tournament Playing Rules

GAME LENGTH: All games will consist of (4) 10 minute quarters. The clock will stop on time outs and on al dead balls in the last 1 minute of the first half and the last 2 minutes of the second half. If there is a point differential of more than 20 points in the last two minutes of the second half, the clock will continue to run.

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME: This game is a single elimination winner takes all game. NO DOUBLE ELIMINATION.

OVERTIME: If a game ends in a tie in the regular season, (1-2) 3 minute overtime periods will be played. The clock will stop in the last minute of all dead balls and time outs. If the game is still tied at the end of the 1 st or 2 nd overtime, ?sudden death? overtime will be played. After the jump ball, the 1 st team to score 3 points wins. From the quarter finals to the championship, we will play as many overtimes as necessary.

TIMEOUTS: Each team is allowed 3 (three) full timeouts and 2 (two) 30 sec time outs per game. Each team will be granted 1(one) full time out in overtime per game.

FOULS: Each team player will be allowed 6 (six) fouls before being ejected from a game.

UN-SPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT: Conduct that is detrimental to the game or the positive environment we provide will be declared un-sportsmanlike and awarded a technical foul. Examples include the use of profanity and disrespectful expressions of anger toward referees. Continued un-sportsmanlike conduct will result in the ejection from the game and player(s) will be asked to leave the gym for the remainder of the game day.

ALL TECHNICAL FOULS WILL RESULT IN A $25 DOLLAR FINE TO BE PAID BY THE INDIVIDUAL PLAYER PRIOR TO THE START OF HIS/HER TEAMS NEXT GAME. NO EXCEPTIONS.

FIGHTING: Any fighting on the court will result in immediate ejection of participants for the remainder of the tournament.

UNIFORMS: Each player will be required to wear a numbered jersey.

REFEREES: Each game will be officiated by two referees. If you have an issue with a specific referee, please bring it to the director's attention. Appropriate actions for the situation will be made.
